There are 5 destinations within a 5 minute walk from my
house: a fire station, a police station, a good sized Catholic church, the
county library head quarters and several soccer fields with a gravel jogging
track around it. Why it took me this
long to think of the jogging track I really don’t know. I usually jog in the opposite direction away
from the safety of the track and head on into oncoming traffic. I guess you
could say I like to live dangerously or stupidly. I prefer dangerous.
My plan for the day was to jog this track with Run Keeper
on and give a report on how it was but that will have to wait since there is
rain moving in and my back yard was in desperate need of a mowing. I foolishly thought I could mow and jog. Understand that I have a lot of yard to mow
and it takes all of 80 minutes plus to push mow the whole thing. My house sits
at the top of a hill so half it mowing up hill.
By the time I was done doing yard work my energy was drained and if I
had jogged that track I would be reporting 20 minute mile or something equally
pathetic.
In all between the garden and the yard I spent over four
and half hours “exercising” which I am counting, I don’t care what you
think. I have been over this before but
again to justify my decision here is a breakdown of the numbers:
Push Mowing/By hand: 80 Min = 858 calories.
I feel justified in my decision and physically tired from
today’s work.
Daily Recap:
Matt – 80 min Push Mowing
Kelly – 30 min Speed Walk & 30 min Beach Walk
