The rain is killing everything. My garden is suffering as well as my mental
faculties. The rain wears you down. Every day for over two weeks we have had
rain. I am tired of the rain!
I was going to run this morning. I got up early mentally ready to go for a
good jog and it was raining. Off and on
all day we had precipitation with thunder and lightning. When I got home it had just rained. My front yard is in desperate need of mowing
and that is what I was going to do when I got home today, mow it. However with the grass soaking wet all it
does is bog down the mower engine and stall the mower.
Okay, so taking care of my front yard was out. No problem I will just go for a jog in the
stifling humidity except just as I laced up it rained again! We had rain from about 5:30 to 6:00 and as
soon as it stopped I headed out.
I hit the pavement without Run Keeper out of fear of
damaging my phone if it stormed. Just outside
my neighborhood and down the street from the library and Church you won’t
believe what happened… Have you
guessed? I won’t hold you in suspense
any longer: It rained.
It was a light sprinkling but enough to wet my hair. Then the sun came out in full force and I
could see the steam rising from the pavement in front of me. In addition to all this it was a tough jog.
My legs again felt like lead. If I had to run from Fat Matt today I am sure
he would have caught me. I tried to push
myself but it was like trying to will a boulder up hill. It just wasn’t happening no matter how hard I
tried. My legs simply wouldn’t allow
it. They didn’t hurt, no, it was more
like it had sand bags tied to them. Why
is it some days you feel great and others like you have been run over with a
truck?
I completed the run and that was that. I am going to bed early tonight and I hope
its not raining in the morning.
Daily Recap:
Matt: 40 minute run even though Fat Matt didn’t want to do
it.
Kelly: TBD.
