Yes, there was more rain, and yes traffic was terrible so
much so I had to use an alternative route since all lanes were blocked on the
interstate this evening. Yes, this
causes me stress, but that is why I have been going to the gym. Well, that and to take in a show.
Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls step right up to see
the amazing break dancing man. Yes he
was there in his uniform which never changes.
It is the exact same outfit every time.
White t-shirt complimented by gray track pants. I have beaten him up enough
and I don’t know why other than the fact that it is just weird. Really, really weird.
Today I while I was pushing plates I watched the
trainers. I saw Kelly’s trainer working
someone else out and beating them pretty good.
This middle aged lady was beat red and sweating like she just wrote a
bad check.
Over where I was you have the Goth infused trainer. She is edgy with a strange spikey hair cut
and those lobe rings. While I committed
on her working with a lady who had an injured foot and looking engaged, I have
been told on good authority that she has been seen training people while
listening to her iPod, sipping on a big gulp, and looking like she would rather
be anywhere but there.
There was a new guy I hadn’t seen before that that won’t
stop me from judging him. For starter he
had a terrible haircut either that or he had just gotten out of bed and came to
the gym. Then all I saw him do was walk
this poor kid from free weights to cable machines showing him how to use them.
Maybe the kid (I say kid but the guy looked to be in his early 20’s) had never
in his life seen how to do a bench press but really how much instruction do you
need on that?
Finally there was another guy who was down on the floor
showing the person he was training how to do the exercises, explaining why they
were doing them, and tweaking her form. I find this to be acceptable trainer behavior.
So two out of I don’t know how many are
not bad. Like Vegas I guess you have to
play the odds.
I didn’t have a trainer for my workout but I kept it
simple sticking to core body building for now.
Shoulder, Chest, Back, Triceps, Biceps, and Legs.
As you know I have been going heavier and heavier with my
legs. Today I got my leg press up to 450
pounds and I still feel like there is room to go. I think next work out I will push 500lbs and
see how I feel. I was able to push out
three sets at 450lbs and do a static hold for 30 seconds.
I really ramped up the weights all the way around and
hopefully I am starting to push past that three days of soreness that I used to
get. I guess we will see.
Daily Recap:
Matt: Total body heavy weight workout
Kelly: 30 elliptical machine
