Kelly came home from Philly today.
I left work early so I could get a good jog in before I
had to pick her up from the airport. I
guess you could say that driving to work this morning was my first mistake. Here I am sitting in my new car as I past one
of the first exits on my way home when the traffic report comes on the radio
and the announcer says, I quote, “I wouldn’t wish what is happening on 285
south bound on my worst enemy right now. All traffic is at a stand still.” Great.
A major pot hole opened on 285 and they had to fix it
during the day since, one, it was dangerous, and two, they had to do it while
it was warm enough for the concrete to cure.
I took the next exit and continued to listen to the traffic report.
Taking the back way was a nightmare as well but at least
traffic was moving, even if it was only at 2 miles an hour.
Meanwhile in Philly:
Kelly had managed to get on an early flight. That was her mistake. They had major problems with the plane’s
de-icer and after loading and making everyone wait they finally made the call
to unload the plane. She had to de-plane
and find another flight.
Amazingly we were both delayed trying to get home Friday. After a two hour ride home I finally made it
just in time to go for a run, shower, throw the dogs in the car, and head for
the airport. That is how our day went.
Daily Recap:
